Working through a backlog of music and I found some real beauties.

Penguin Prison is a name to look for. I've started to see his name everywhere. Here, Remix Artists Collective (RAC) teams up with Penguin Prison for a nice, melodic indie pop song. This is real easy listening. A light acoustic guitar, soft drums, strumming bass, and soothing lyrics. There's a more edgy remix out there, but I found the original to be much more pleasing.

Robin Carrion has been sending us music for awhile now and it always been solid, but nothing extraordinary. He breaks out of that shell with this song. A sweet house background with some rapping over it. A solid song to rage to this weekend. As always, play it loud.

This one comes from a rip of a (British?) radio station where it made its debut. For that reason, it's a little lo-fi, but its sheer power comes through anyway. Dreamy lyrics, slight dubs, what's not to love? Perfect song for slow-motion raging.

The Hood Internet has been on a tear recently, dropping a new song every few days. This is a throw back, dropping down a retro bassline and has a myriad of rappers ranging from Biggie up to Penguin Prison. A bumpin summer rap mashup.

Where's the drop?

See here I have a very very sexy electronic track, and when I first listened to it, it was building up and building up and then it kind of stayed at the same level and never dropped with a booming kick drum and a roaring bassline. This type of electronic music is growing on me. No drop, no problem just some sweet sexy sounds. Dig it

What I love most about these guys is that they take from the edges of mainstream, or don't use the same bytes as other songs, so that you remember their tracks. Upbeat house this one is. Disco Fries Are Back!

It has been a good 6 months since I heard anything from the Disco Fries, a group who has made several awesome remixes of popular songs, but they are back and didn't hold back on this one. They took Avicii's track Silhouettes and turned it into a completely new monster. I was on the edge of my seat as the buildup takes almost 3 minutes but it's totally worth it when this **** drops.

Mashups Upon Mashups

This first one is a mashup of Jay-Z's popular 99 Problems and Glitch Mob's Fortune Days. I love when DJs find two songs that nobody would ever think of putting together and making them work as if they were never two separate songs.

Musings on a Mashup

It's not often you stumble across a mashup with creativity, but here it is, one of the most interesting two song mashups I think I have ever heard. Urban Noize sampled Kanye West's part of Forever (you will recognize it) and places it over the sound of a choir rendition of Radiohead's Creep. When it all comes together it's hard not to smile. Enjoy

Got an eclectic grouping of songs for you tonight.

First here is all the rage of the blogosphere the last few days. This beauty, dropped by Goldroom, will just make you feel happy. I might venture to label this one dream-disco. This one is worth your time.

Project 46 takes an already great Deadmau5 song and styles it to make it a little more dancefloor friendly and one which will get your feet a movin. Sweet, danceable buildup, getting lost in the depths of time and space, with some spine-tingling lyrics to boot. Kaboom.

Last one was sent to us, and I wasn't expecting such a sweet trip of a track. It's a little short, but has some awesome synths and riffs. Glitchy, fun, and carefree. If you like Wolfgang Gartner or Prototype Raptor, you'll like this. If not...you'll still like this.

Missed you all yesterday, but I'm coming back to you with two new bumpin tracks.


Uh-Oh. That's what I said when I first heard the Stairway to Heaven chord come on in this track. It's such an awesome song, and most mashup producers think they can use it willy-nilly. However, DJ Fusion treats it with respect and puts it into a mashup that works perfectly with 2pac's flow.

But for the time being, as it makes its rounds within the mashup community, we found an awesome mix by 3LAU that fits in the lyrics with some of Porter Robinson's filthy beats.

B.o.B is one of my favorite rappers right now, and so naturally I'm inclined to use his songs in posts. But that doesn't change the fact that this song is damn catchy with a cool background and nice lyrics. I even don't mind Nicki Minaj in this one as I can almost stand her verse.

Lucid Rock

Oldie but goodie here for you today. One of my favorite songs of the new, lucid rock genre.


Sweet sound bite in the beginning, moving into lucid guitar and kickdrums. Lyrics that make you think, and that you can hear, which doesn't always happen in lucid rock songs.

Theophilus Dubstep

Skream, one of the original, I mean one of the first 10 people to start producing what we now call dubstep has created a gem of a track by taking Theophilus London's I Stand Alone and adding a calm earthy dubstep tone as the background.

It's not conventional dubstep, and has some elements of drumstep so I recommend that everyone gives this song a chance, Enjoy.

Poppin Party Dance Music

Got a sweet banger for you today. Never heard of Felix Cartal before today, but isn't that the greatness about today's music? An artist can come from nowhere to suddenly top the charts.

This song has some great vibes coming off of it. Gets a little glitchy in the middle, but is absolutely a song you can get down to.
